Claire Norcross is an award-winning designer specialising in lighting, and offers a design and consultancy service for both the commercial and bespoke markets.

Claire is best known for the range of designs produced whilst head of lighting at Habitat. These include Spindle, Newton and Ribbon; which received the ‘Best in Lighting’ award from Elle Decoration magazine in 2006.

The ‘Aperture’ Light will feature on the new Luminosity Site and shown below are some examples of work in action and some of the shots that will be used once the new site is up and running.

It was a fine dry, though somewhat cloudy day at the ever popular Bartle Hall, Preston in Lancashire. Friday’s Wedding at Bartle Hall for the marriage of Angela and Roger, experienced the photobooth style photography, now offered as either part of a package or for the evening guests to get involved.

An eclctic mix of Scottish and Spanish Guests made the day very interesting, depite the weather causing severe delays on the M6 motorway resulting in the Bride arriving over an hour later than planned, and torrential rain did not stop proceedings at all !

Check out the group photo of all the guests where two cars with the headlight on full beam, were used to light the group from either side. Two Nikon Speedlights used as main key lights in front.

Unfortunately 70 miles per hour winds were forecast and boy did they come ! The sun was shining, but the wind blew and blew and blew to the point where I could barely see through the viewfinder due to the sand blowing ferociously in my face!

In the short space of time that we had, a few images had to be produced for an editorial feature the next day, here are a few teaser images…

Friday saw the test shoot for a model based in Preston, Lancashire The weather was kind though we were prepared for the worst, also allowing studio photography time as well.

These images were shot late morning with studio flash brollies outdoors.

The mix the daylight and flash lighting to create pleasing contre-jour (against daylight) images.

The Wedding Reception was held at The Pines Hotel, Whittle le Woods.

It was great working with them both on the day and although it was a very wet and rainy day, their spirits were high and in true form smiled all the way through their day embracing the weather.
